1. Apply

Your doctor will tell you how many depressions of the plunger to make to get the correct dose of gel for you.

  • Leave to dry – Testogel® 16.2 mg/g gel dries within 3–5 minutes
  • DO NOT apply to the upper chest, genitals or abdomen

Please note, this product contains alcohol (ethanol 96%) and is flammable until dry.

2. Wash your hands

  • With soap and water, immediately after applying gel
  • Wait at least 2 hours after gel application before you bathe, shower or swim

3. Cover up

  • After the application area dries it should be covered with clothing
  • If someone else comes into contact with the application site, they should wash the affected area with soap and water as soon as possible
Don’t forget
  • Wash application areas before any direct skin contact with someone else
  • Avoid washing/submerging the application area for at least 2 hours after treatment – otherwise you may not get the full dose of testosterone from your application

Precautions1

Reporting of side effects

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in the package leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard or search for MHRA Yellow Card in the Google Play or Apple App Store. By reporting side effects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

The testosterone present in Testogel® 16.2 mg/g gel can be transferred to others through direct skin-to-skin contact. This could cause people that stay in extended contact with you to show signs of excess testosterone. Increased testosterone levels, in people without TD, can have undesirable effects.

Transfer risk is minimised if you follow some simple rules:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water after applying the gel
  • Cover the application area with clothing once the gel has dried
  • Take a shower at least 2 hours after application and before any intimate contact

Don’t worry, if you think you might have transferred testosterone to someone, tell them to:

  • Wash the area that may have been affected immediately with soap and water
  • Report any signs of testosterone exposure to their doctor. Acne, or changes in the growth/pattern of hair on their body or face are all signs that they may have been exposed to testosterone

This medicine contains 0.9 g alcohol (ethanol) in each dose of 1.25 g gel.
It may cause a burning sensation on damaged skin.
This product is flammable until dry.

If you miss a dose or wash it off by accident, don’t worry. Just apply your next dose at the usual time. You don’t need to take a ‘double’ dose to make up for a missed dose.

Communication is key

Share any concerns with your partner and work together to establish a routine that works with your lifestyle.
